Wardie Parent Council - CPT News

At the AGM for the Wardie Parent Council three new members were appointed – Nicholas Thomson (P6S), Michael Gray (P2N), Rebecca Helliwell (P1K) and Rachel McMillan (P1S).   The remainder of the council is made up of parents who served on the council last year.  A full list can be seen on the web site with photos of the new members to follow soon!   At the AGM Mrs Cooper gave a Head Teachers report and chair, Sue Pain, explained what the council had achieved last year.  Parents and guests (including Councillor Alan Jackson and Marie Carberry from Lennox House) were put into groups to discuss the key areas of communication, extra curricular activities and the web site which will form the basis of meetings in the forthcoming year. 

 At the meeting of the new Parent Council the following week Sue Pain was re-elected chair and Lucy Haddow was appointed secretary.  Cameron Watson agreed to remain treasurer.  It was agreed that each meeting will focus on particular issues, the first being how best we can offer extra curricular activities for children at Wardie, with a special focus on health and fitness.  PE teacher, Mrs Ramm and Nicky Wheatley, the Active Schools Co-ordinator for the area have been invited to the next meeting on Wednesday 3 December at 7pm.   If you have any views about what we could do to improve After School Activities for the children please e-mail us at wardieparentcouncil@hotmail.co.uk, drop a letter into the box opposite the office or talk to a member of the Council before that date.  We value the opinion.
