Calling all parents!

Parent Council Annual Meeting & discussion on homework

Thursday 29^th October, 7pm

Wardie School Hall

The Parent Council represents all parents at the school (Parent Forum).  It works in partnership with the Head Teacher, school staff and the wider community to support the education of our children.  Over the past year we have:

·        Campaigned against cuts in the education budget

·        Participated in interview panels for our two new Deputy Head Teachers

·        Provided comments on proposed school holiday dates

·        Helped to organise clubs and activities at the end of the school day; and

·        Helped to paint the loos!

It is time for our annual meeting, which involves ALL parents. At this meeting there will be:

• A summary of the school’s achievements over the last year;

   

• A summary of the work of the parent council over the last year;

   

• Appointment of new parent council members;

   

• Approval of the parent council accounts;

   

• Discussion of our new work programme; and

   

• A discussion about homework.

Volunteers needed!

We are looking for new members of the parent council.  If you are interested in standing, then please complete a nomination form and submit it by Friday 16^th October.  If you want to know more about what is involved then please contact us (wardieparentcouncil@hotmail.co.uk).

ALL parents are entitled to vote on these issues, even if you cannot attend the evening.
