Wardie After School Club
Wardie After School Club (WASC) is an independent, self-financing organisation providing good quality, affordable child care for any child attending Wardie Primary School.
It is located in the dining hall of the school (accessible by the ramp
from the P1 playground) where we have a wide range of activities
ranging from arts and crafts to a pool table and Nintendo Wii. In the
summer months children have the use of the playgrounds.
WASC is run by Linda Watters, an experienced nursery nurse who is also
a learning assistant within the school. She has a team of 4 staff [click here to see photos].
The club runs every day from 2.40pm – 3.15pm (first session P1 & P2
only) and from 3.15pm – 5.30pm (for the whole school). Places are
limited as the club can only accommodate 40 in each session so it is
advisable to apply early. P1 parents who don’t get in initially will
almost certainly get places in the early session and full time places
will be allocated as and when they come up.
The club can be contacted in opening hours on a phone in the dining hall 0131 552 5538.
In the holidays WASC runs a holiday club. At February half term, the
first week of the Easter holidays and in the summer for the first three
weeks. Places are open to all pupils not just those who are members of
the club though children who are members get priority. Holiday club is
themed each day and includes highlights such as trips to the cinema and
Noah’s Ark.
